Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 Presidential election. That’s a fact.
Why she lost is not a matter of fact but of interpretation.
Maybe she screwed up. It’s comforting to attribute all life outcomes to individual choice and effort. She should have made more appearances in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.
And she made other ‘errors.” For example:
“She should have known the FBI was gunning for her, and prepared counter-measures.”
Or
“She should have known that Vladimir Putin hated her, and had means and motive to harm her electoral chances.”
Can you say “20-20 hindsight”?
She did win 2.86 million more votes than Donald Trump, even with the KGB and the FBI both placing their thumbs on the scale.
What kind of failure is that?
It’s a matter of interpretation.
